CONGRATULATIONS RAFA !!!

The Zer02 rider Rafael Álvarez de Lara (Specialized Spain) has been proclaimed 2006 Four Cross Spanish Champion on the second day of Bilbao Bike and Rock, ahead of David Vázquez y Pasqual Canals.

The final was very intense with two 4X specialists like Rafa Álvarez de Lara and Chus Castellanos versus two downhillers like Vázquez and Canals. Rafa imposed his hegemony from the first moments, opposite to a very motivated Vázquez, that only was able to get the silver. Third was Canals, with very regularly in all the championship that left without medal at Castellanos.

Thirty pilots took part in the qualifying rounds and there was no surprises, being the best times for the three that went up onto the podium: Álvarez de Lara (26:390), Canals (26:439) and Vázquez (26:572), being fourth Carles Barcons (26:694) and fifth Joan Vicente Mérida (27:320).
